L&T has played a critical role in the development of technology for the Indian nuclear power sector from the very beginning. Our scope of work in the projects covers construction of pre-stressed concrete reactor buildings and containment structures, control buildings, turbine buildings, cooling water systems, intake and out-fall structures, intakes and pump houses, radio metallurgical and radio chemistry laboratories, ventilation stacks, cooling towers and various types of mechanical and electrical equipment for nuclear power projects.

Construction and Heavy Engineering Divisions of L&T is all geared up to play a significant role in design, development and construction/manufacture of warships, submarines, weapon platforms, weapon launchers and launch systems in the defence sector.

L&T also offers a wide range of services for the detailed engineering and construction of Irrigation structures like barrages, lined and unlined canals, aqueducts, lift irrigation schemes, rehabilitation and modernization of existing irrigation schemes, intake structures - open and closed channels.
