L&T's Specialized Construction Methods and Planning Cell (SCMPC) complement the operation of MMH's projects by providing value added solutions for critical and complex civil construction and heavy lift erection and related works. SCMPC focuses on the implementation of cost effective construction methods and aims at systemizing, automating and mechanizing the elaborate processes by incorporating the latest trends in construction technology.
Some of the major innovations and initiatives implemented include modularization of erection, mobile formwork for continuous casting and mechanized construction methods.
With the prime focus on safety, this cell develops a flawless and construction-friendly approach for handling critical facilities by maximizing yard works and minimizing field works. With a strong fleet of heavy lift cranes ranging from 150 tons to 750 tons, this cell has executed many jobs. Super heavy elements (up to 3000 t) are lifted through specially built towers and strand jack systems together with heavy skidding facility.
