EDRC provides construction engineering services for bridges, flyovers, marine structures and other special infrastructure projects. It complements the structural design capabilities of other departments of EDRC and
L&T - Ramboll consulting Engineers Limited.
Bridges
Construction engineers services are offered for substructure and superstructure of different types of bridges viz. in-situ, precast(full span/segmental), incrementally launched, steel/composite and arch bridges.
Ports & Harbours and Special Projects
Construction engineering services are offered for jetties, wharves/quays, breakwater, shiplift platforms and seawater intake and outfall structures. Services offered include marine piling and erection schemas, formwork and precasting schemas, breakwater construction schemas, design of coffer dams, temporary jetties with concrete or sheet piles/gabions, quay wall erection schemas. It has the expertise in designing jack-up platforms, piling platforms for heavy- duty cranes/mechanical piling rigs and underwater placing of geotextiles
EDRC- Hydel
The Hydro group of offers basic study, conceptual design, detailed engineering and consultancy services for all Hydro Power and Irrigation projects. It is located in L&T Engineering Centre at Faridabad.
It has the capacity for conducting river flood analysis, detailed site survey and investigations, hydrological, power potential and geological studies, Environmental Impact Analysis, basic engineering, construction methodologies, derivation of BOQ, rate analysis, project cost estimation and economic evaluation for hydro electric projects. The design capabilities in the fields include dams (concrete, earthen, rock-fill and Roller Compacted Concrete-CFRD), barrages and weirs; river diversion; de-silting chambers; intake structures; all types of tunnels for water/transportation; pressure/surge shafts and penstocks ; power houses(above and underground); river interlinking projects and irrigation structures such as canals, cross drainage works, aqueducts, super passages, etc. Basic engineering and detailed designs / draweings for hydro mechanical works and basic engineering and integration studies for electro – mechanical works are also included.
It has the capability for preparing feasibility reports, detailed project reports, technical specifications and construction engineering in the above fields.
EDRC Foundation Engineering
The Foundation Engineering group of EDRC offers engineering solutions to all the Business Units of ECC. It caters to the entire gamut of Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering designs for all types of projects.
It has capabilities for the design of shallow foundations, deep foundations, deep excavations, dewatering, ground improvement, sheer piles, diaphragm walls, well foundations etc. The group has latest advanced software such as Talren, Modflow and Plaxis for all geotechnical analysis. It also prepares foundation recommendation reports based on investigations carried out by the by the Foundation Engineering Competency Cell (FECC). It co-ordinates closely with FECC and Construction methods Planning Cell (CMPC) and prepares designs based on appropriate construction methodologies.
The group has contributed to considerable savings in Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering areas for various projects and has established a good rapport with L&T’;s clients and their consultants.
