Built by our Buildings business vertical, Terminal 1 of Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport completed in the year 2014 is capable of handling 17+ million passengers and 300,000 tonnes of cargo per annum. It resembles a colossal, curvy magical carpet tossed over the structure supported by precisely spaced out steel struts. The 4-km runway is equipped with CAT 1 and ILS and was enhanced later to accommodate the Airbus A380. The airport also has an integrated cargo handling system.
Our Transportation Infrastructure business vertical built the 4-km long New South Parallel Runway along with apron and associated works. Bengaluru is the 3rd Indian airport to have a runway of more than 4 km and is equipped with CAT IIIB LED ILS (Instrument Landing System) to enable safe landings in low visibility.
Phase 1 of Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport, completed in 2022, encompasses a sprawling expanse of 112 acres and has the capacity to serve up to 25 million passengers per annum. The terminal is built under the architectural theme of 'terminal in a garden,' which combines various natural elements such as clay, bricks, bamboo, rattan, and extensive landscaping to improve the terminal's overall aesthetic.
