With the older, 1st Narmada Bridge creating a bottleneck on NH-8, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MORTH) decided to build a second bridge with private sector participation and we won the mandate and delivered the project in 33 months. The segmental construction technique adopted to build the superstructure involved quality precast segments fabricated at a casting yard nearby, transported to the site and erected using a special launching girder. Well sinking for the piers was executed by the jack down method of construction.
