We at L&T believe in sharing and giving back to the community. We are therefore at the forefront to provide healthcare to the deprived sections of the society through regular health camps and other related initiatives to promote their wellbeing.
In partnership with Udavum Karangal and Gayathri Hospital, located in the western suburbs of Tiruverakadu, Tamil Nadu, we provide healthcare support to the villagers who are largely weekly wage-earners, coming from an under privileged background. This initiative meets their needs through specialized medical care at a nominal fee. We have supported the hospital with advanced lab equipment too.
Our long association with HelpAge India provides 'Comprehensive Health Care for the Deprived and Deserted Elderly. To ensure quality and healthy living conditions for senior citizens, we have enhanced the basic health Infrastructure facilities of 10 old age homes in and around Chennai benefitting more than 500 residents. The amenities included Pulsating Magnetic Field Therapy Equipment, Solar Power Facilities, Solar Water Heaters, RO Water Purifiers, Generators, and Vehicles to shuttle the residents to hospitals in case of any emergency situations.
People in Chennai and across the rural areas of Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur districts are benefiting hugely from the comprehensive eye camps and general health camps that we help conduct in association with Sankara Nethralaya. Spectacles are distributed free to patients with vision defects as well as free cataract surgeries conducted at Sanakra Nethralaya. We also organize scores of general medical camps in partnership with HelpAge India.
