Pioneering Renewable Energy with Saudi Arabia’s Largest Solar Power Plant

We constructed the 1.8 GWp Sudair Solar Power IPP Project, the largest solar power plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the first under the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) renewable energy programme. Spanning an area equivalent to 2,735 football fields and utilizing an amount of steel equal to 9 Eiffel Towers, this landmark project is located 165 km from Riyadh and stands as the first GW-scale solar PV IPP project in the country.

The plant features bi-facial PV modules with HSAT trackers and an advanced automated robotic cleaning solution, delivering clean energy capable of powering 185,000 homes. It is projected to offset nearly 2.9 million tonnes of emissions annually. Remarkably, we energized the entire 1.8 GWp Solar PV Plant two months ahead of schedule, achieving 9.5 million safe manhours and setting new standards for quality and productivity in construction. In recognition of our safety and excellence during the construction phase, the project was honoured with the RoSPA Gold Award for FY 2023.
