The Kenya-Ethiopia regional power interconnection is the largest and longest HVDC in Africa, the longest and largest TL in Eastern Africa. With a capacity of 2000 MW, the bipolar 500 kV HVDC line originates from Wolaita Sodo in Ethiopia and terminates in Suswa, with 433 km residing in Ethiopia and the remaining 612 km running in Kenya. We are executing the Lot-5 part of the 612 km transmission line in Kenya.
