The 94000 sq. m. solar rooftop plant with a capacity of 7.524 MWp, installed for RSSB-EES, Amritsar in Punjab is one of the largest in India. Installed on fragile asbestos sheets, the project entailed the installation of 30,096 250Wp modules, fourteen 500 kW inverters, seven 11 kV transformers, an inverter and control room and a 11 kV / 132 kV substation. The project utilized different levels of roofing to maximize power plant capacity, whilst placing an 11.5 km long aluminium walkway for O&M. Plant performance is continuously monitored from a SCADA room while a MET station measures horizontal and inclined radiation, wind speed and other variables.
