We have executed India’s first large scale solar PV cum storage project that included design, engineering, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 22 MWp (DC) / 20 MW (AC) Solar PV Plant and 16 MW / 8 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Port Blair, South Andaman, India. The Module Mounting Structures (MMS) were specially designed and developed in house using Contour Following Structures (CFS) Technology, which follows the natural profile of ground and requires minimal cutting / filling of the land mass. Another key feature was the implementation of Li-ion based Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the first time in India that serves two purposes: to smoothen and regulate the frequency of the renewable power that improves the stability of the grid and increases renewable penetration. The Containerised Battery Energy Storage System supplied for the project was also entirely integrated in-house.
