Tamil Nadu's Panaiyur village hosts India's largest 60 MWp solar tracker plant executed within 8 months using a technology that controls the movement of the photovoltaic panels to align with the sun's positional shift that reduces the angle of incidence between the incoming sunlight and the photovoltaic panel for greater energy conversion. The 340-acre plant required 1,92,192 modules and 158 trackers, involving a range of civil, mechanical and electrical works and the laying of 27,000 stub foundations and material close to 3000 T was sourced from Chennai.
