Statue of Unity

Hailed as an engineering marvel of modern times and recognized as one of 100 Best Places to visit in the world by Time Magazine, the Statue of Unity (SoU) is the tallest in the world at 182 m (597 feet). Built in honour of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the statue was built in just 33 months to last a century. The entire statue is clad with 6,500+ macro and micro bronze panels that sit on a concrete and steel superstructure. Situated at Kevadia, Gujarat, SoU is also part of a grand vision for the development of the area. It features a 52-room, 3-star hotel – "Shrestha Bharath", bridges and 4-lane approach roads. The SoU was inaugurated by PM Modi on 31st October 2018 and even since has mopped up several national and international awards for its engineering and construction.
