To ease Kolkata's perennial traffic problems, the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority mandated us to build a flyover and four Rail Over Bridges (ROBs) within a 70 km radius as a part of a larger programme for infrastructure development. The Chandannagar ROB over Eastern Railway main line obviates the need to travel 15 km to cross the railway line. The Bhatpara ROB crossing another major Railway line of Eastern Railway has been designed as attractive Warren Truss bridge, with only one support within the railway zone. Similarly, the park circus ROB constructed with two parallel bow string girders is a new iconic structure in the city and has enabled decongestion of the park circus area without encroaching any land within the Railway zone.
