Cutting through a heavy tourist area, the route connects Delhi to Faridabad, Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan, that runs through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh involving 14 flyovers, 2 viaducts, 24 vehicular underpasses, 10 pedestrian underpasses, 14 minor bridges and 203 CD structures. An innovative step taken at site was to re-use the road material in the asphalt mix. The use of hot RAP in DBM led to a 0.2% reduction of bitumen in the mix and a 15% reduction in fresh aggregates. Use of broken PQC blocks for slope protection and replacement of the conventional filter media with a geo-composite were other smart calls taken at site.
