The Upper Indrāvati Lift Canal system features system electrical connectivity, pumping water from the Hati barrage, 8 rows of rising mains, 43.26 km of gravity lined canals including 164 inlined structures, 1100 km of closed conduit distribution network pipeline along with an outlet management system. This mega project envisages to irrigate 26,248 Ha of higher land areas during Kharif season across predominately drought prone areas of Odisha’s Kalahandi district, promising a radical shift in the livelihood of the people by converting this region into one of the highest rice production basins.
