UAE’s largest, state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Jebel Ali (Phase 2) was engineered by us for the Dubai Municipality through which 375,000 cum/day litres of wastewater can be treated and reused for non-potable applications across Dubai. Built on a Build, Test, Commission, Operate & Maintain mode, the STP features Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Treatment process involving 2,650 process and mechanical equipment, 700 km of cables and 30 km of plant piping networks. The Sludge Treatment Process includes Sludge Thickening (Rotary Drums & Belt Thickeners), Anaerobic Digestion, Dewatering (Centrifuge), Sludge Drying (Thermal paddle dryers) facilities and the Robotic Bagging System. Other scope of works included odour control facilities, Phase 1 STP interconnection, upgrading works in Phase 1, effluent pump stations, effluent reservoirs and biological reactors. Constructed in 670 hectares of dessert area, this project was delivered ahead of its schedule.
